KC/St. Louis hip-hop artists Rithem stopped in to record a new track a couple of weeks back.  Take a listen to the latest mix:  Get Out Tha Way

 

Applebutta started their recording sessions in April 2007.  Straight up old-school rock from this band.  Sample "Good Times, Bad Times" right here.  

 

King James and Teezy brought their KC-flavored gangsta rap to the studio before heading back out west to start promoting.  Here's a clip from Middle of Tha Map.

 

Tiffany Miller came in to lay down new vocal tracks for "Another Man".  For something a little different, here's the vocals-only track from her session. 

 

Local KC rap artist, Mahry, stopped by for some basic pre-production tracking sessions in advance of an upcoming show in Las Vegas.  Here are a couple clips of the rough mixes from "No You Don't" and  "Silly".   Keep an eye out for her finished release at her MySpace site.

 

Dora Dank, winners of the 2006 UMKC Battle of Bands, veterans of Club Wars, and all around good guys finished their second round of sessions in December 2006.  Take a listen: MIA, Satisfaction, Anxiety, St. Nemesis, MexicoFinal versions of their tunes are available on their website.

Brandy Sosa came in to record vocals over an instrumental version of Celine Dion's "A Mother's Prayer".  To anyone wondering if you're talented enough to record, "Yes you are!".  Your music won't leave the studio until you sound great!

 

Schemata finished tracking "Throwing Stones" in January 2006.  Definitely one of the best new rock bands on the Kansas City scene.  Get out an see 'em. www.schematamusic.com

 

Don Platt's  bluegrass CD, "The Only Thing That Will Ever Count", just received it's final touches with Afterburn's mastering process.

 

Kelly Daniels stopped in for her first studio sessions ever!  Her songwriting/performance demo is headed for Nashville.  Here's a clip from "Do You Believe?".

 

Codale Ford brings the rap with his new CD.  Mastered at Afterburn Recording Studios.  Additional mastering work is underway for his crew in Oklahoma.

 

Steve Strickland came in from Ottawa, KS to record guitars and vocals for several new songs. As an additional bonus, long-time national touring player Tommy Stephenson (Joe Walsh Band, F5) sat in on keys.  Steve already has a double-CD set titled "Reverse Chronology" available.  Looking forward to hearing these tunes on his next disc.  Don't Wanna Go Yet, That Earl King Thing.

 

 

Stefan Soltero/Rosemantic, the original "Mexican Emo Kid", has been laying down some killer new music over the last few weeks.  A full-length CD is in the works for Spring or Summer of '05.  Check out these samples from Stefan and his all-star band, Rosemantic: 7th Grade, MEK,  Aftermath of A Broken Heart

 

D for Dennis is just getting started on the scene.  Look for good things from these guys in 2005!  Fabric

 

Sedated's new full-length CD "Thank God 4 Satan" available now.  Mastered at Afterburn Recording Studios.  New material for Sedated's follow-up album has since arrived for mastering.

Copus: Definitely make the time to check out this band!  These guys are rock solid, with a very cool blend of floating melodies and crunchy riffs. Copus just wrapped up another round of studio sessions with "Your Own Peril" and "Parallax".  Here are clips from "Easier" and "Defaced" from their first visit.
